Ryan Van Slooten is a Minneapolis based singer-songwriter who, for most of his solo career, balanced life as an independent musician with being a stay-at-home dad to his two girls. It put some of his musical ambitions on the back burner, but it's a decision he says he wouldn't change for anything. 

Van Slooten’s music has been described as “expertly written and recorded stuff that fans of the Goo Goo Dolls and John Mayer might enjoy.” He is equal parts rock n’ roller and crooner, blending a mix of rock and pop while still keeping a singer-songwriter charm. A talented multi-instrumentalist, he plays nearly all the instruments on his recordings.
